Cloverleaf Advocacy celebrates successful retender for the Carers Count Lancashire carers advocacy service
Cloverleaf Advocacy is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a new three-year contract to deliver the advocacy service for carers in Lancashire.
Following a rigorous and competitive retender process, the well-respected Carers Count team will continue to provide advocacy services to adult carers aged 18 years and above who are caring for an adult, and young adult and child carers who are entitled to advocacy support under the Care Act.
It is estimated that over 138,000 people currently give their time and energy to caring for a loved one, family member, or friend in Lancashire and Cloverleaf has a strong reputation for its advocacy service delivery in the region.
This retender further bolsters Cloverleaf’s carer support services in the North of England, which includes the Carers Count Kirklees and Barnsley Carers Services.
The aims of the service are to ensure that carers in Lancashire:
a. are identified at an early stage;
b. have their voice heard and can influence how advocacy for Carers is delivered in Lancashire, assisting the Carer to speak up for themselves whenever possible;
c. have access to a range of personalised advocacy as well as information, advice and services that they may need to support them in their role;
d. are supported to maximise their own health and wellbeing.
As part of the new contract with Lancashire County Council, Carers Count will be developing a weekly drop-in service across the whole of the County. In addition, the service is calling on carers to come forward to help set-up local peer support groups which they can lead and grow with assistance from the team.
Joanne Green, Operations Director – Carers, self-advocacy and inclusion services at Cloverleaf, said: “We are delighted to retain our Carers Count Lancashire Advocacy. It is a fantastic and well-regarded service, and we are looking forward to developing the services we offer to carers across the whole of Lancashire.
The Carers Count team in Lancashire are a dedicated and enthusiastic team who are keen to build on the good work they have been doing for the last few years.
Over the next few weeks and months, we will continue to talk to carers to find out what they want, so that we can develop services that carers truly need. If you would like to be involved, please get in touch, or attend one of our drop-in sessions or peer support groups.“
Cloverleaf Advocacy CEO – Suzi Henderson added: “Everyone at Cloverleaf Advocacy is delighted to have retained the tender to deliver advocacy services to carers in Lancashire. We know what vital role carers play in our communities and society.
Caring for a loved one can be both rewarding and challenging and often impacts on carers’ own health and wellbeing. We are proud to ensure that carers’ voices are heard in matters important to them, and it is our aim that they always feel valued, listened to, and can access support when they need it.”
