Cloverleaf Advocacy is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a new three-year contract to deliver the advocacy service for carers in Lancashire.

Following a rigorous and competitive retender process, the well-respected Carers Count team will continue to provide advocacy services to adult carers aged 18 years and above who are caring for an adult, and young adult and child carers who are entitled to advocacy support under the Care Act.

It is estimated that over 138,000 people currently give their time and energy to caring for a loved one, family member, or friend in Lancashire and Cloverleaf has a strong reputation for its advocacy service delivery in the region.

This retender further bolsters Cloverleaf’s carer support services in the North of England, which includes the Carers Count Kirklees and Barnsley Carers Services.

The aims of the service are to ensure that carers in Lancashire:

a. are identified at an early stage;

b. have their voice heard and can influence how advocacy for Carers is delivered in Lancashire, assisting the Carer to speak up for themselves whenever possible;

c. have access to a range of personalised advocacy as well as information, advice and services that they may need to support them in their role;

d. are supported to maximise their own health and wellbeing.

As part of the new contract with Lancashire County Council, Carers Count will be developing a weekly drop-in service across the whole of the County. In addition, the service is calling on carers to come forward to help set-up local peer support groups which they can lead and grow with assistance from the team.
